4 years ago today, we tied the knot and our love is stronger.
we love each other each and every day for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health.
we look forward to our 5th next year!
Congrats!

why the tract & invitation campaigns?
it is the only way to get the regular pubs out into the field.
there is now a general letdown of activity to go out, followup and keep going.
I know what you mean!
Rutherford had to be one of the biggest and craziest a-holes of all time.

LostGeneration: profoundly well put.
I love your analogy about a major corporation with an incredible new product to share with the world.
I believe this very point will contribute significantly to their downfall.
The newer generation of JWs has to recognize that something just doesn't add up. The call to "Advertise Advertise Advertise the King and His Kingdom" has an almost eerie hollow ring to it when you consider all the incredible tools at their disposal to spread the word - that they are virtually ignoring in favor of the hugely inefficient slow-motion door to door drudgery. Even with an army of free laborers it is still grossly inefficient!

inbetween is bang on!
That is primarily why the tract campaigns exist.

it is incredible the amount of scaremongering that jw's carry out.. this was one that always plagued me when i was still trying to grasp onto my beliefs as a jw.. either in wt study or in private discussion, this topic would come up.. what a horendous outlook of the future.
to be in absolute fear that the authorities might take your children away from you.
that you might suffer torture.
I agree with cult classic: no, you weren't too sensitive!
broops100 - congrats on your escape!! We escaped as well after a similar amount of time as victims of brainwashing. We were both born in so the indoctrination started early - and fear of the great tribulatin was a very real raw emotion for us. As a kid, I spent hours planning on how I would deal with the great tribulation. Quite sad when you reflect - but then you realize you are free and no longer need to worry about such utter nonsense! YIPPEE! Enjoy your freedom!

from "reform or dissolve watchtower and questions?
" post i learnt that most in jwn overwhelmingly disfavor reformation.. okay, let's talk something we could agree on.. .
we are against the system.
As a responsible citizen of planet earth I am basically following your same strategy. Good job, putting this together, and thank you for encouraging others to act responsibly.
Since I am aware of a damaging influence in our society, it would be irresponsible for me to turn a blind eye.
I can't make it my life pursuit, but it takes priority among my charitable works. It does so because I realize that most citizens do not have the knowledge regarding the WT movement that I possess based on my experiences, therefore more onus is placed on me to do something about it - to warn others and to help other innocents escape.
Cohesion is good. Sharing techniques that work is good.
As you alluded to, thankfully the INTERNET provides forums like this, youtube and other social media that allows us to reach out to others much more easily and sometimes more effectively than other methods of the past. For example, in the past you would need to either write a book, or try and get on a radio program, physically picket, or go door to door. The INTERNET provides a cheap and inexpensive way to get the word out.
However, one method that I believe should be used more often, is mailing letters. Postage is cheap, and it may be more effective than the INTERNET for some. It can also be done anonymously if that is your preference.

Hi Junction Guy,
Good to hear you are doing well!

i thought i would share a few highlights of my experiences over the last six months here, since i know you guys will understand, and i felt like organizing in writing a little.
this week marks 6 months being officially out of the wts, although it was about a year coming before that.
here are some of the things i have been able to do for the first time that i (and my wife in some cases) probably would not have been able to do otherwise!
Nice going Chaserious,
Good for you! I was pretty pleased to get involved with organized sports as well. The birthday parties are fantastic too!
Glad to hear you are adjusting well to life in the real world.
I am certain that there are a lot more people like you out there who don't even post on boards like this, but I for one am glad you checked in. It's great for current JWs who check this site out on occassion to read posts like this.
Thanks!

who are the false prophets today.
by barbara anderson.
in 1991, one of the watch tower societys senior writers, colin quackenbush, told me in the privacy of his office about letters which the society had received from prominent and credible elders, not apostates (thats exactly what he said), who were concerned about the increase in accusations saying that jehovahs witnesses were false prophets.
I find it amusing and ironic that JWs fit their own definition of a false prophet better than just about any other religion on earth.
The Oracle
was there an official or unofficial reason that anyone knows of?.
it seems to me that pretty much every publication was studied at the book study, but we never did that one..
haha. This has been a funny thread.
Munch makes an interesting point. That could be the ticket.
Munch makes another great point when he/she refers to the "insanity" of the Revelation book. That sure was one crazy book.
